Rosenthal 620. - VD18 10981586. - Dritte deutsche Ausgabe des berühmten 'Thesaurus et armamentarium medico-chymicum', zuerst 1631 in Hamburg erschienen und in mehreren lateinischen und ab 1685 auch in deutschen Ausgaben gedruckt wurde. - Adrian von Mynsicht (1588-1638) wurde als Sohn des Pastors Anton Seumenicht (15551643) wahrscheinlich in Ottenstein im Herzogtum Braunschweig geboren. Am 4. März 1605 immatrikulierte er sich an der Universität Helmstedt und schrieb sich 1610 mit dem Titel eines Magisters in Rostock ein, wo er zum Doktor der Medizin promoviert wurde. Nach Tätigkeit in Magdeburg ist er 1618 als Leibmedicus des Herzogs Julius Ernst zu Braunschweig und Lüneburg bezeugt. Seit 1631 diente er in gleicher Funktion bei Herzog Adolph Friedrich I. von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. In letzterer Stellung betrieb er eine eigene Apotheke, auch hatte er freie Praxis inner- und außerhalb des Landes. M. war ein erfolgreicher Arzt und Anhänger der iatrochemischen (chemiatrischen) Lehre von Paracelsus, die, im Gegensatz zur herkömmlichen Humoralpathologie Galens, Krankheiten durch chemische Vorgänge erklärte und durch chemische (synthetische) Arzneien zu heilen versuchte. In seiner Hauptschrift führte er zahlreiche Komposita sowie 15 pharmakopoeähnliche Arzneipräparationen auf. Die bekannteste unter ihnen ist der um 1630 erstmals von ihm beschriebene Brechweinstein, der allerdings zu seinen Lebzeiten noch keine allgemeine Anerkennung fand. Vermutlich stand M. der Rosenkreuzerbewegung nahe. Nach eigener Angabe war er Comes Palatinus Caesareus (Kaiserlicher Pfalzgraf) und Poeta Laureatus (Lorbeerbekränzter Dichter). - Auf Vorsatz zeitgenössischer Besitzeintrag und Kaufvermerk von Helfrich Wilhelm Jackes: "Gekaufft zu Fürth in Ostermeß Ao. 1714". - Einband berieben, bestoßen und stark gebräunt, Einriss auf Vorderdeckel repariert. Innen etwas fleckig und gebräunt, Blattränder teils abgegriffen. Einige Wurmspuren an Blatträndern und im Bundsteg, teilweise mit geringem Buchstabenverlust. Etwas braun- und fingerfleckig. - Benutztes, aber ordentliches Exemplar. Altersfreigabe FSK ab 0 Jahre Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 900 8° (16,5 x 10 cm). Pergamentband der Zeit mit durchgezogenen Bünden und handschriftichem Rückentitel.
