Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. hardback book in very good condition, very clean-no names, notes etc.
Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Hugh Ferriss (illustrator). The 1929 very early printing (but not 1st edition) --in its uncommon dustjacket-- of this landmark in skyscraper design. (The correct 1st edition has silver lettering to the front panel and spine, this early reprint has red lettering). With timeless sketches throughout by Hugh Ferris, perhaps the most talented architectural artist of his era. His drawings here are suffused with a Decoish quality while at the same time feeling futuristic. A book of great influence to architects and designers alike. This early printing has held up very nicely. Clean and Near Fine in a crisp, VG dustjacket, with light soiling to the panels, very light creasing and chipping along the bottom-edges and pronounced creasing along the front flap. Still though, solid and very presentable. Tall quarto, Ferris's sketches along each recto, his text along the facing versos.
