This copy with additional folded broadside specimen sheet: "This magnificent series of 96-point Caslon Swash Capitals. . ." laid in; subscription card as well as manuscript note on Whittington stationary card signed by Randall thanking the recipient of the book. A beautiful copy in trivially rubbed slipcase. Randall employs 21 typefaces using between 3 and 10 sizes per face, to create this specimen book in which he presents the faces using published selections that are printed in incrementally smaller type. Faces include: Baskerville, Bodoni, Caslon, Centaur, Garamond, Perpetua, Times Roman, and more. Illustrations throughout by Gwenda Morgan, Eric Gill, Robert Gibbings, Edward Ardizzone, and others.
