Spine ends bumped, tips fairly sharp and no broken cloth, no rubs through anywhe…re on book. Not exlib. Tidy ink name at head of fep, remainder of 194 pp text is crisp and unmarked. Original unclipped DJ in new mylar shows slightly darkened ecru background with green & black illustration on frt panel, shows small chips and loss at tips and head of rear panel, and half of the letter D of author's last name missing on dj backstrip of book, still displays ok on the shelf. 'Ten-year-old Deborah, a cockney orphan, learns through a fantastic projection into a multi-dimensional world, and through her friendship with a little blind boy, more about the nature of proper behavior and love than most men could in a whole life of philosophical speculation. By nature, a serene and selfless child, her flight -- with the help of special glasses -- into a world peopled with lost children, good fairies, and evil spirits, becomes a means by which she can integrate all those curious longings and confusions which inevitably perplex a youngster. Fact and fantasy ultimately meet, and it is a happier, more secure Deborah who relinquishes the key to never-never land for the sake of an earthly fulfillment in love.
