Hardcover. Condition: Good. Contemporary calf with spine label. 8vo. Illustrated. Vol. 2 of 4 volumes issued. This volume comprises the entries from D-J. It has 9 engraved plates numbered 17-25. They show a hydrometer, two globes, a slide rule, articles from the order of the garter, hydrostatic instruments, experiments in electricity and more. A good copy with some scuffing and wear to the covers and some rubbing and chipping to the spine. The front cover is worn near the lower spine but the binding is still firm. The text is good with some scattered foxing and spotting, occasionally heavy. There is an early ink owner's name on the front flyleaf and a later one on the inside cover.
