Her poignant tribute to the victims of Colombia's armed conflict, which has claimed more than 250, 000 lives. "Presented as four bodies of photographic work in a two-volume, bilingual edition. The first volume includes hauntingly beautiful images of Diettes' photographic work on display at museums and memorials in areas where the victims 'disappeared', a moving Statement by the artist herself, an Essay by Mexican scholar Ileana Dieguez, and an extensive Conversation with the artist by Anne Wilkes Tucker, Curator of Photography, Museum of Fine Arts Houston. The second volume showcases the plates from three photographic series: 'Sudarios' ('Shrouds'), photographs printed on linen of women who have witnessed atrocities committed against their loved ones; 'Rio Abajo' ('Drifting Away'), images of articles of clothing of 'the disappeared', photographed in water and embedded in glass; and 'Relicarios' ('Reliquaries'), three-dimensional works of polymer containing mementos and personal effects of the victims" (Publisher's blurb). A rare signed copy thus. One of the most brilliant artist/photographers of our time. A fine collectible copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER ERIKA DIETTES TITLES IN OUR CATALOG) ISBN 1938086325. Signed by Author.

Add to basketPaper. Condition: Good. First Edition. An Original Handwritten and Signed Letter from Composer Frank Mori to His father Violinist Nicolas Mori Discussing Giovanni Pacini and the death of Maria Malibran. Dated 1836. Frank Mori 1820-1873 was English conductor and composer, son of Nicolas Mori and born in London. He was educated by… his father Nicolas Mori. He wrote light music, his operetta The River-Sprite (London, Feb. 9, 1865) being fairly successful. He supported Franz Liszt 1811-86. Between 1840 and 1840 Liszt made two tours of Britain. These were arranged by the musician and conductor Lewis Henry Lavenu, and Liszt was accompanied by Lavenu's half-brother Frank Mori, two unnamed female singers and the musician, singer, entertainer and diarist, John Orlando Parry. Nicolas Mori 1796 - 1839 was an Anglo-Italian violinist, music publisher and conductor. Once regarded as the finest violinist in Europe, Mori was somewhat overshadowed by the rise of Paganini. Size is 210mm x 170mm. In good condition. Folding creases. Age toning. Seal opening loss to rear. Light repairs to odd areas. Ref 18812. Signed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Condition: Sehr gut. Limitierte Ausgabe. Z : 160 pp., 87 ills., clothbound - signed by Marina Abramovic, Esporito Santo, Antony Gormley, James Caebere, Marco and Dago (Los Carpinteros), Peter Liversidge, Anthony McCall, Joseph Kosuth, Callum Innes and Laurent Grasso - An unusual book project about an architectural gem… for art and books in a spectacular natural setting Limited edition of 600, of which only 300 will be commercially available Cloudline is a unique building designed by architect Toshiko Mori in collaboration with gallerists Sean and Mary Kelly and situated on the slopes of the Hudson River in Upstate New York. One is immediately greeted by art as soon as one enters the structure: Joseph Beuys, Jannis Kounellis, Juan Munoz, and Ian Hamilton Finlay escort you inside the space, which, with its aluminum-framed panoramic windows facing the Hudson Valley and its plain concrete floors, serves as a minimalist canvas for the art within. Cloudline s collection includes works of art by a considerable number of artists, some of which were created specifically for this site. Nearly a dozen of these same artists created new works especially for this book. These works of art will be reproduced as facsimiles, inserted into a numbered, limited edition version of the present publication, and accompanied by an essay by the novelist Colm Tóibín in which he describes the magic of Cloudline.
