Some staining along left edge of back cover, small brown spots. Corners bumped, rubbing along edges. No lettering marred, DJ structurally intact. No date on title page. Copyright page dated only 1971. 383 pages. Former owner Lincoln P. Brower's initials are written in pencil on front free endpaper. Brower was a noteworthy conservationist and butterfly expert. No further markings throughout book, pages are clean and bright. More spots of brown staining along fore edge, does not extend to pages themselves. Binding is tight and secure. Everything you know about Monarch Butterflies, you know because of Brower's work, both scientific and outreach. He was a great teacher, an important researcher, a torch-bearing conservationist, and a leading light in lepidoptery. We are extremely excited to offer his books.
