First Edition Signed
Hardcover. First Edition. Original red cloth. BAL 9642. Illustrated with eight plates. A fine presentation copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author to "Joanna/from her brother,/W.D. Howells." We are not sure who the recipient is as Howells, one of eight children, did not have a sister named Joanna. He did have a brother named John, but he died in 1864. Slight hinge crack. Spine sunned and a little soiled. Very Good.
