The cover illustration reproduces a silk scroll sent by patients of the Tsinan Leprosy Hospital, China to their supporting friends of the Mission to Lepers. The Chinese characters mean ; "May all your months be peaceful ones." Inscription: From Mr & Mrs J.G. Roberts* to you all, Brocksford. 10 x 12.5 cm. Some light discolouration alongside creasing to upper corners. Brocksford Hall is a country house about one mile (1.6 km) east of Doveridge village, in the south west corner of Derbyshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The house was built in 1893 for Charles William Jervis Smith and designed by the Chester architectural practice of Douglas and Fordham. From 1942 to 1994 it was used as an independent preparatory boarding school. In 1939 at the start of the Second World War, the headmaster of Birkdale School, Mr John Gibson Roberts evacuated the pupils to Brocksford Hall. After the war, Roberts moved his pupils to Uttoxeter creating Brocksford Hall School, whilst twenty boys returned to Oakholme Road under Heeley in 1942 who later became Head Master in 1943.
