First Edition. First Edition. Frontispiece Photograph by Otto Wagner, New York. 1 vols. 8vo. Inscribed on flyleaf "Hiram B. Croisby With the Regards of the Author, June 17, 1872." Miss Chafa went on to become Mrs. H.S. Lake, speaker at the First Spiritual Temple. Her life was quite spirited. Her husband Mr. Lake was a Priest when he met her, but smitten he renounced his vows and married the young lady. Bound in Publisher's presentation full pebbled brown morocco, a.e.g., marble endpapers with their label at the back "Bound by the Riverside Press."
