Elegante encuadernación del siglo diecinueve en holandesa marroquén burdeos, hierros dorados en la lomera. Preciosa edición aldina de este opúsculo médico sobre obstetricia o el día del nacimiento, uno de los primeros en su campo. Escrita en el año 268 como afirma el autor en el texto, la obra se divide en dos partes, en la primera analiza los aspectos antropológicos del nacimiento: origen de la especie, gestación, desarrollo del embrión, cálculo astrológico, duración de la gestación, relación entre música y nacimiento, periodización de la vida. La segunda parte trata del tiempo y su división en años, meses y días. El propio autor reconoce que su obra no es original, sino fruto de su erudición, y cita entre sus fuentes a Varrón y Suetonio. Además del interés medico del libro, la obra destaca además por sus capítulos dedicados a la música (pp. 51-54), al ritmo (pp. 74-75), a la modulación (pp. 76-77) y a la métrica (pp. 77-79). En honor a Censorino se bautizó con la versión latina de su nombre al cráter lunar Censorinus, situado en el sureste del Mare Tranquillitatis. Precioso ejemplar en perfecto estado.
