GENUINE LEATHER FINE BINDING HARDCOVER published by the high-quality publisher Easton Press. Black binding, beautiful gilt designs, 168 pages. Five ridges on spine. Lettering, designs stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. gold - a hallmark of fine bookmaking. This leather was hand selected from individually tanned hides. Textured and shaded, acid-neutral paper won't turn yellow over time. Pages Smyth-sewn into binding for permanence (not glued like ordinary books). Edges gilded three sides to enhance elegance of the book. Endpapers are beautiful satin moiré, specially dyed for the publisher. Satin ribbon page marker bound in. Condition: Minor light scratches to the gilt on the fore-edge, else Fine, in gift-giving condition. [While other books online have been read but still classified as new, this book was never read.] Martin Amis's Time's Arrow is a short, unsettling novel told entirely in reverse, following the life of a Nazi doctor backward from death to birth. It uses this reversed chronology to expose moral horror by making atrocities appear, on the surface, as acts of creation rather than destruction. The central figure is a man known by several names?most notably Odilo Unverdorben or Dr. Tod T. Friendly?who is eventually revealed to have been a Nazi doctor involved in the Holocaust. Very profound, insightful story. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly. Signed by Author(s).
