No publishing data listed but presueambly published by J. Whitehead & Sons, Kennington, Marble importers, as a promotional book. The British Library entry gives "1930?" as the date. White vellum spine, black paper covered boards. White paper label with black lettering to front cover. Oblong format, 8.75ins x 10.5ins, unpaginated. Comprises 2 blank pages after the endpapers, an illustration of a stonemason, title page with two vignette illustrations, 2pp text, 13pp illustrations,2pp text, 9pp illustrations, list of recent marble contracts, vignette "finis" page, 2 blank pages. All pages printed on recto only. Of the 22 illustrations 16 are by Walcot and 6 by Brangwyn. They depict the Italian quarries and the firms Kennington works. Small stain to the base of the front pastedown and front free endpaper. Vellum spine darkened. Small (one inch ) split to edge of spine. Boards rubbed to corners. Pinprick hole to paper label. Internally VG, externally G to G+. Scarce.

The Avenue Press bookplate, spine bruised at the edges, unknown initials written in pen at the top of it. In good condition to say the least, pages clean and free of marks. Book published as an advertisement by J Whitehead and Sons Ltd., marble importers.
