Though styled as a "one-shot," Nice, along with Ice, was part of a series of magazines published by Clark during his time as editor at the Paris Review. As Clark recalls in Jacket2: "The magazines had deliberately uncataloguable titles: Once, Twice, Thrice, Thrice and 1/2, Frice, Vice, Spice, Slice, Ice, Nice, Dice, and Lice. Contributors include Joe Brainard, Charles Goldman, John Perreault, Aram Saroyan (whose copyright dates his work to 1966), Richard Brautigan, Tom Clark, Lee Harwood, Clark Coolidge, Harry Fainlight, Frank O'Hara, Dick Gallup, Ted Berrigan, and Peter Schjeldahl. Schjeldahl has used black pen to amend one of his own poems and blue pen to create an erasure work, "SIX PHOTOGRAPHS OF TOM CLARK'S," out of Clark's poem "HITCHING." Very good with crease to front cover and toning/staining along the edges.…
