    Indonesia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1957, 34pp. original softcover binding. Important government statement before parliament on December 21 1957 on the Indonesian Dutch relation delivered by Foreign minister Subandrio. It concerns amongst other issues the struggle for West Irian also known as Western New Guinea, also known as Papua, Indonesian New Guinea, and Indonesian Papua. It was eventually granted to Indonesia in 1962. Subandrio (15 September 1914 - 3 July 2004) was an Indonesian politician Foreign Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister of Indonesia under President Sukarno. Removed from office following the failed 1965 coup, he spent 29 years in prison. The spelling "Subandrio" has been official in Indonesia since 1947 but the older spelling Soebandrio is still sometimes used.
