Add to basket(176) pp. Profusely illustrated. Publisher's cloth, dust-jacket with a small mended tear, otherwise a near fine copy. To this copy is loosely added a small card written by hand and signed Merce Cunningham, also added is part of the envelope, wiht adress and sender, in which the book was sent to Sweden. ''Changes, a look into the… working notebooks of Merce Cunningham, is the most comprehensive book on choreography to emerge from the new dance. Cunningham's reflections on his art engage the reader in an awareness of both his own sensibility and the potential of the medium. Its pages are reproductions of the in-progress notes for the individual dances - to indicate the method - superimposed with speculation - to define the problem - and complemented with visual and other material relevant to the performing arts.'' (from dust-jacket).

Contact seller5-star sellerdj. First Edition. Octavo. 24cm. Publisher's original white cloth boards titled in deep blue to spine. Dustjacket. 176pp. Clean and very bright with some minor soiling to board edges, in a sharp photographic dustjacket with some minor marginal wear and chipping to the laminate. A very good copy indeed. Internally clean, with a r…ather cryptically indecipherable signed note from Cunningham laid in, also present is the ink ownership signature of Bessie Schonberg, the immensely talented and renowned choreographer and dancer whose early work as a dancer came to a sudden end due to injury, but who then continued behind the scenes in a long and distinguished career. A very handsome copy of a densely produced, if occasionally incomprehensible, work, and an impressive double association. Signed.
