Hard Back. Winchester Edition. A beautiful set of Jane Austen's works comprising of Sense and Sensibility in two volumes, Pride and Prejudice in two volumes, Mansfield Park in two volumes, Emma in two volumes, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. Bound in full green cloth with gilt decoration and titles to the spines. In overall good condition despite a little fading especially to the spines. Shelf wear and a little fraying to the tops of the spines with some repair to the top of Northanger Abbey. Slight lean to the spines. Top edge of the text block gilt and still bright while the fore edge is untrimmed. Internally the binding is tight although the frontispiece is loose to Sense. Rectangular piece has been cut away to the front free endpaper on Persuasion and a large piece missing to vol II of Pride. Previous owners' signature to the front free endpaper of vol II of Sense. Endpapers are toned with the occasional spot of foxing throughout especially to the prelims and towards the rear. Pages otherwise are clean throughout, illustrated with frontispiece portrait of Jane Austen to volume I of Sense. Overall a good set suitable to adorn any book shelf.nbsp; book.
