Original staple-stitched photo-illustrated wrappers; 31, [1] pp. Light soil to wrappers, some minor creasing to text and one margin with small nick, not affecting text; overall good or better. Third edition of this enormously popular long poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky, which established his reputation as the prophet of the Revolution. Written in 1914, the poem caused a sensation in literary circles and was finally published with the personal funds of the literary critic Osip Brik in 1915. Published on the 10th anniversary of the first edition, this third edition was sold out immediately on release despite its large print run, due to the great popularity of the poem. The second edition published already after the Revolution, in 1918, sold out immediately as well. As of December 2023, KVK, OCLC show copies of this third edition at Yale, Ohio, and Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
