"This weekly diary was first written for a local newspaper, based on observations and events recorded in the beautiful area of Ardudwy in the old county of Meirionnydd. Most of the entries are based on regular wildlife walks of the northern shore of the Artro estuary, including the sandy heath landscape of the Maes and adjacent shore of Tremadog Bay, a designated European marine reserve for thousands of over-wintering Common Scoter. Several entries are from inland observations made in the wild and remote Rhinogs mountain range and associated moors, wood and rivers, the inland border and hinterland of the Gulf Stream warmed Ardudwy coastal strip. It is hoped that these diary entries convey the richness and beauty of the landscape in which we are so lucky to live and encourage the reader to visit the area or to open his or her eyes to the riches of their own environment." The author, Brian Macdonald, is a keen naturalist who currently runs courses on foraging and wild brown trout fishing, leads wildlife walks and boat trips and many other associated activities in the area. .

At this time Critchley (1900-1997) was M.D. Brist., F.R.C.P. Lond., Junior Neurologist to King's College Hospital; Assistant Physician to the National Hospital, Queen Square. "In seminal papers published in 1931, Macdonald Critchley summarised his observations and the prevailing evidence on the effects of ageing on, amongst others, sensation, reflexes, ocular function, olfaction, movement, and cognition" (Jonathan M Schott, "The Neurology of Ageing: What is Normal?", Practical Neurology, Vol. 17, issue 3, June 2017. This paper can be read online for free. Schott quotes many passages from Critchley's lectures and then presents current knowledge). Critchley's tribute to his chief Kinnier Wilson, "Remembering Kinnier Wilson", was published in the journal Movement Disorders, vol. 3, no. 1, 1988. Critchley writes about his 14 years with Kinnier Wilson that he "was in turn, his House Physician, his Registrar, and then his junior colleague on the staff at Kings', and at the National Hospital, Queen Square. During that period I was in very close touch with him. . . . I say with utmost confidence that in the 1920s and 1930s there were two supreme figures among the world's neurologists, and Kinnier Wilson was one of them.". Signed by Author(s).

CHAU4660? This vintage original early hand pencil drawing of Jeanette MacDonald?has come from the private antique collection of 1940s and 1950s Hollywood artist Ms Grace.E.Taylor whose extensive and specialist early collection of her personally?drawn works of some of the greatest?film actors and actresses of her era I have secured at my store. Whilst I am still researching the artist, provenance letters which came with the collection show her writing to Hollywood stars asking her to sign her artworks after she had completed them (As an example of this I attach a random actors letter to the additional scans of this listing).? In a number of cases some have been personally autographed by the Hollywood actors and actresses by reply (also listed at my store), and all show great personality & character with her hand drawn works of art from the Golden Age Of Hollywood that cannot be replicated today, you really feel you are holding in your hands a personally detailed drawn item of the actors as she drew them when they were just very young & early in their career climbing their way to stardom and success. This particular work of art is an antique approximate 12cm x 8.5cm pencil hand paper drawing where she has captured the personality & character of the actor perfectly.? Close examination of the scan will show you the extent of her toning, shading & expression in this work, which must have taken her many hours to complete all those years ago.? ?It is rich with detail personally created and surely represents one of the most unique personal souvenirs of this historic actor from the era you will ever find of its kind.? ?I am selling all her collection and each shows the passion she had for the actors and actresses and the time & love which went into each portrait. Condition is truly excellent and ready to be framed on arrival for its new home.? Please see all the other works & historic paintings of Miss Grace E Taylor all listed at my store including those she had personally signed by the Hollywood actors and actresses. A truly one off opportunity for any Jeanette MacDoland fan or collector of her memorabilia.
