Large gift inscription on the front pastedown. Blue hardcover, lacking dustjacket, 18th printing in fair condition - heavily worn. Covers split through to the boards at the corners and joints with soil from handling and some staining. A hard bump to the top of the front board. Interior is much better - binding and hinges are solid, and no additional markings other than the mentioned signature and inscriptions at the front. The half-title page is creased but intact. 318 pp. black and white illustrations by Kuhn. This children's novel was the basis for Disney's live-action film "Westward Ho The Wagons.".
