Henry Thomas Ellacombe, this work presents the history of church bells used in the religious buildings of Somerset, while also exploring the parishes to which the bells belong. With an Olla Podrida of bell related matters to the rear. Illustrated with fourteen plates containing numerous sketches of church bells. Collated, complete. Bound in the publisher's original boards, with the addition of a cloth spine. Externally, generally smart, with a few marks and age toning to boards. Small crease to the front board. Evidence of glue to the cloth spine. Internally, binding has split between p140-1, with the remaining binding slightly strained. First few pages are a little tight, possibly due to glue repair.
