Leinen. 50 x 40 cm. Acryl auf Leinwand, auf Spannrahmen geheftet, ohne Rahmen. (gut erhalten). Eine gute Kopie dieser Ikone der Pop-Kultur. Das Bild zeigt einen Comic-Ausschnitt: diagonal von links unten nach rechts oben eine Flugzeugspitze mit Propeller und feuernden Bordwaffen. Rechts unten das lautmalerische "BRAT!". Auf der Rückseite der Leinwand in großen Buchstaben: 'Roy Lichtenstein "As I opened Fire" 1964 New York / Copy by Victor Laplace 1986 Hamburg'. "Roy Fox Lichtenstein (geboren 27. Oktober 1923 in Manhattan, New York City; gestorben 29. September 1997 ebenda) war ein US-amerikanischer Lehrer und Maler der Pop Art. Neben Andy Warhol war er der wohl bekannteste Vertreter dieser Kunstrichtung. Der Durchbruch gelang ihm 1961 mit dem Bild 'Look Mickey' (dt. Schau mal Micky), sein Stil wurde der industrielle Stil des gedruckten Comics. In seinen späteren Arbeiten orientierte Lichtenstein sich dagegen wieder an seinen expressionistischen und surrealen Wurzeln. It is a reproduction of the painting in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. First printed in 1966 and again in 1974, 1983, 1988, 1990 and 1991. Corlett, App.5.

Roy Lichtenstein As I Opened Fire, set of 3 Lithographic Posters: An authorized reproduction of Roy Lichtenstein's painting entitled "As I Opened Fire" (1964), the subject matter is inspired by panels for DC Comics' 1962 All American Men of War. Published by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam circa the late 1990's/early 2000's. Offset lithograph in colors, on wove paper. Minor signs of handling; minor adhesive residue to the reverse of 1 (not visible to frontside); in otherwise very good overall vintage condition. Dimensions: 20 x 24 inches for each (applies to each individual). Stamped on the verso from an edition of unknown; unsigned. Published by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Offered by Lot 180 Gallery.
