This appears to be a specially bound copy for presentation from the author to Gwendolene Caldecott and is inscribed to her by the author. The copy is bound in dark blue half leather with red cloth sides. Also loosely inserted is a typed letter on Balmoral headed paper dated 4th September 1977 acknowledging receipt by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11 of a specially bound copy of the book from Sir Hannibal Scicluna. The letter is signed by Robert Fellowes, then assistant private secretary to Queen Elizabeth, he was also Princess Diana's brother - in - law. The letter mentions that the Queen took possession of her specially bound copy which was handed to her by the author while visiting Braemar Gathering. Also inserted is a telegram from the Queen dated July 30 1977 to Sir Hannibal Scicluna expressing her and Prince Philip comisserations at the news of the death of Lady Scicluna. Signed by Author(s).
