This book was written for the "average student" in that day who was "seeking scientific background to comprehend the factors responsible for various material expressions of the evolutionary process. It was also directed toward the "intelligent layman" who wanted accurate information on one of the controversial topics of the day--evolution. It contains 419 pages followed by an index of 36 pages. It is filled with black and white drawings, photographs and charts. The condition is very good although the pages have some underlining and marks in pencil. There are no signatures. The binding is loosening but all the pages are completely intact. The red cloth cover is stamped in black on the front and spine and is not faded. There is only minimal wear on the corners.
