Hardcover has brown cloth-covered boards with elaborate cover and spine decorations in stamped gold, blind-stamped on rear cover. Blue speckled page edges. Black & white illustrations on plates. 827 pages. Sewn binding. Ouida is the pseudonym of Marie Louise de la Ramee. NOT ex-library. Binding generally intact, but pulled at the front hinge. The contents page is missing. Spine ends bumped and rounded, with small tears at the edges. The gilding at the spines is about half lost, but titles are all visible as they are stamped. Cover gilding is all intact but suffers from variation in brightness in vertical sections typical of this edition. Covers have light surface and edge wear. Spine has a vertical indentation. Pages clean and unmarked. Pages lightly tanned at periphery but still supple. Dust jacket is missing. Carefully packed, shipped in a box. See our listings for other volumes of this set.
