Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. First edition, 1975: the University of California Press issue of the Basil Blackwell edition, the title page and copyright page both dated 1975 with no later printing statement, printed in Great Britain. Hardcover in olive cloth with bright gilt spine lettering, in the original pictorial dust jacket housed in a mylar protector. Two brown adhesive stains from old tape show on the front board, with matching rust bleed-through to the endpaper, and the top edge is age-toned with scattered foxing. The cloth spine itself is excellent - bright, unfaded and square, the gilt crisp, with no lean and no fraying at head or tail - the binding is tight, and the text is clean apart from light pencil markings.
