Condition: Fair. 1827. No Edition Remarks. 476 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. Half bound green leather with 5 ribbed spine and green cloth covered boards. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Library copy, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages are heavily tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Red marbled patterned pastedowns, free endpapers and textblock edges. Pencil markings to front free endpaper. Hinges are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Noticeable peeling to leather elements. Gilt lettering is darkened. Visible wear marks to boards.

Lacking the title page and the first segment is B, starting from the Preface. I also believe there may be prints missing. The b segment is loose. On the Preface, in ink is signed ' Emil A.W. Lawson', dated '1883' under that in different ink but the same hand is written.'I am Ready' . There was an actor called Emil W Lawson . He appears to have been born in Adelaide, Australia.Actor in 1867 and married an English woman and lived at 14 Albert St, St Pancras, London; possibly his copy! Condition: The boards are very dusty, corners bumped and heavily worn; the front board is detached. However, the Text inside is clean with the odd brown spot. size 20 x 12cm (8 x 4.5 inches).
