De hijo a padre (1928-1960), volumen VI de la serie quinto publicado narra los primeros anos de vida del autor en 9 de Julio y el comienzo de la escuela en Carmelo, de donde eran sus padres. Tambien el encuentro con la historia de la familia, que incluye el matrimonio de un espanol con una portena en 1765 y la aparicion de inmigrantes francesese en el siglo XIX. Desde la llegada del autor a Buenos Aires en 1937, lo acompana en su recorrido artistico y vital hasta las postrimerias de la decada del sesenta, momento en que obtiene una beca para estudiar en la Universidad de California (Berkeley), Estados Unidos. El presente volumen compagina una prolifica documentacion historica familiar (cartas, recibos, contratos, testamentos), asi como tambien abundante material grafico: mas de 500 imagenes ilustran el texto.
