Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. Handmade palm-leaf book produced on the island of Bali. It consists of eight 9 ½ in. x 1 ½ in. palm leaves, each divided into 2 compartments inscribed in black with Hindu deities or various mythological figures and an inscription in Javanese characters. The leaves are pierced with three holes; edges are stained red; cotton cord through central hole, tied off with knot & a pierced Chinese coin. Bamboo covers stained brown & inscribed with mask design. An original piece of Balinese folk art produced using traditional methods. We understand it is meant to be used as a calendar. In fine condition. Signed by Author(s).
