Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. Privately printed, The Panurge Press, 1930, 1930. First edition Only 1250 press-numbered copies of Frank Harris's Pantopia have been printed, all of which, except ten copies for the editors of The Panurge Press, are intended for private circulation among a…dult collectors of literary curiosities. No. 294. Attractive blue/deep lavender boards, near fine but for shelving protected sunning at fore-edges. Gilt lettering and design to boards. Unique throughout with clean text. Contains a two page catalogue of Panurge Press's other titles, most of which seem to deal vaguely with then censorable topics, erotica, sexual curiosities, soft porn. This work is less well known than Harris's My Life and Loves. Harris was well known at the time and proved to be a fabulist of sorts. Best line from Harris preface, in which he compares Pantopia favorably to D.H. Lawrence's, Sons and Lovers and Lady Chatterly's Lover, "The selection of the gardener for the hero rather shocked me. Common men cannot as a rule make an art of love.".
