Seller: Aeon Bookstore, New York, NY, U.S.A.
First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Both volumes of Janet Flanner's award winning Paris Journal, both inscribed First Editions. Both copies signed to Bill Dale, with warm and gracious notes preceding, all obtained at a talk delivered by Flanner, which is included in our description of a third volume signed by her currently listed as well. Both times signed on the front free endpapers, both times with Bill Dale's own name printed in marker above. No other writing or marks besides, with interiors of both volumes being quite bright and clean. Bindings are both sound and tight on both volumes. Boards clean on both books, with only minor rubbing to the cloth, neglible. Dustjackets have some wear and tear, now protected in brodart. Sticker ghost to front panel of volume 1, with a 3" closed tear at the DJ spine and a moderate size chip at the foot, lesser chipping at other corners, some rubbing, particulary at edges. Large chip at the foot of the DJ spine to Volume two, some scuffing and fading to the DJ spine, tear about 1/2 the length vertically alongside the fold of the rear flap (not seperated) and some smaller chipping and closed tears besides. Red topstains on each volume lightly faded, with some rubbing and spotting. All this being said, still rather attractive and scarce signed, Volume 1 scarce in 1st with DJ even unsigned. Inscribed by Author(s).
