The Altar Steps, The Parson's Progress & The Heavenly Ladder were a triology of novels exploring religious concerns, which stemmed from Mackenzie's own conversion from Anglicanism to Roman Catholicism in 1914. 325 pages. 19.5 x 12.8 x 4cm. Bottom edge of pages handcut. Condition: Split down spine cover left seam at bottom upwards 8cm + top down 1.5cm. Slight top/bottom spine rub + corners. Owner info o/p dated 23.11.1923 + pencil 1st Ed 6/-. o/ps + end papers fox spots. Page edges collectively discoloured with age. Otherwise clean, tight binding, little wear, good colour VGC.
