A signed pamphlet by Enrique Lister (1907-1994), a Spanish communist politician and military officer who participated in the Spanish Civil War as an officer in the People's Army of the Republic and rose to the rank of major general in the Red Army of the USSR during World War II. The second page contains his signed dedication to Mazen Husseini (1934-2024), a Palestinian communist and journalist; dated 1972. The pamphlet was written as a critique of Santiago Carrillo, the General Secretary of PCE (Communist Party of Spain), and published in 1970. See also a photo for the table of contents. This is a complete collection of the rare clandestine period of "LA VANGUARDIA. Bulletin published by the Socialist Party," covering issues from No. 1 (September 1947) to No. 46 (March 1950). This publication was the fundamental organ of the Argentine Socialist Party from its founding in 1894. This collection is of particular interest because it covers a crucial period of the early Peronist era, a time when La Vanguardia, under the direction of figures such as Américo Ghioldi, emerged as the leading voice of the socialist opposition after losing its parliamentary representation. These issues are a direct and essential testimony to the socialist perspective, documenting their criticism of the Peronist government, which they frequently described as totalitarian and undemocratic. They represent a valuable record of journalistic resistance in the face of intense government persecution, which included censorship, multiple closures, and even periods of clandestine publication. They constitute an irreplaceable primary source for researchers, historians, and collectors interested in Argentine political history, socialism, Peronism, the history of the press, and the intense ideological debates on democracy and civil liberties of the mid-20th century.
