Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. Former library book. Has been repaired by replacing the spine and meanding the hinges. Has been glued back into its covers after being shaken loose. The hinges have been meanded preserving the original covers and spine. Moderate edgewear on the boards. Moderate shelf wear. Red Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. New and Cheaper Edition. Sound tight decent pocket size hardcover, not much wear, nice key-lines and curly motifs to boards, pages very tanned and the paper is extremely brittle so must be read with care for the edges. DJ tight with a chip at spine base, age browning and general edge-nicks and handling marks. Size: 12mo.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Teal cloth blind ruled and gilt-stamped. Gutter cracked, else near fine.

D/w is stained, discoloured ans has tears to edges and spine (has old sticky tape inside) and has large (publishers?) price sticker on spine (2/-). Inside 1st page has a pen inscription. There is some page creasing and it has darkened with age, but is o/w clean and tight. 2 sections of the text are on light blue rather than white paper. 268pp.

First published in 1910 in London by Chapman and Hall, Ltd. Collects twenty-four sketches and short stories, some previously published in periodicals. Amiable, lightweight material. "May Eve" is a borderline or ambiguous tale about meeting an elderly woman who may be a fairy. Small nick in cloth at bottom edge of rear cover, a very good copy. (#119460).
