A scarce novel by this Irish author (1863 - 1951)- best known for his novel, 'The Blue Lagoon'. The book comes in a green cloth casing - but is sprung with the rear board almost entirely separated from the textblock. Some rubbing and splitting to the rear outer hinge and for 1 cm to the front outer hinge. There are a couple of splits to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine and rubbing to the board corners. Light scattered foxing to the front end paper, half title page and fore edges, with the odd foxpsot encroaching onto the margin of the odd page. There is a neat ink name inscription to the half title page, dated July 1910. A few page corners have been turned, leaving a neat crease. The textblock is clean and tight. A fair copy.
