Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Starting with Napster and Gnutella, peer-to-peer systems became an integrated part of the Internet fabric attracting millions of users. According to recent evaluations, peer-to-peer traffic now exceeds Web traffic, once the dominant traffic on the Internet. While the most popular peer-to-peer applications remain file sharing and content distribution, new applications such as Internet telephony are emerging.Within just a few years, the huge popularity of peer-to-peer systems and the explosion of peer-to-peer research have created a large body of knowledge, but this book is the first textbook-like survey to provide an up-to-date and in-depth introduction to the field. This state-of-the-art survey systematically draws together prerequisites from various fields, presents techniques and methodologies in a principled and coherent way, and gives a comprehensive overview on the manifold applications of the peer-to-peer paradigm. Leading researchers contributed their expert knowledge to this book, each in his/her own specific area.Lecturers can choose from the wide range of 32 tightly integrated chapters on all current aspects of P2P systems and applications, and thus individually tailor their class syllabi. R&D professionals active in P2P will appreciate this book as a valuable source of reference and inspiration. …

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. This book presents a proof of concept architecture to detect and prevent Sybil attacks in automated Machine-to-Machine networks. Designed in regards to low-powered Internet of Things devices, the proposed layered defence balances security with computational feasibility, using Distributed Ledger Technology and Multi-Agent Systems. The thesis begins with the theoretical background of the used technologies and related work, which the methodology is based on. Using the Design Science Research framework, the methodology explains the process of building the simulation, its layers and the combined approach, followed by the results which are compared and discussed. The results show that a multi-layered approach reduces false positives and offers a more balanced detection framework compared to the isolated methods. The thesis concludes by discussing the framework's scalability, limitations and future research directions for securing decentralized payment systems. Using the Design Science Research framework, the methodology explains the process of building the simulation, its layers and the combined approach, followed by the results which are compared and discussed. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Peer-to-peer systems have gained momentum over the last years. This work was motivated by the necessity to analyze such systems. It proposes a distributed monitoring system, P2PMonitor, that has alerters specialized in local monitoring of entities. These alerters encode the basic events detected into streams of (Active)XML documents. A method for filtering efficiently such streams has been introduced. Also, an algorithm has been proposed for the detection of parts of a new monitoring task that are already supported by the system. Complex and efficient stream processors are needed at the heart of P2PMonitor. The work shows how to build them from views over active documents and proposes a maintenance algorithm that scales and reduces the computation time. Modeling the applications is important for being able to monitor them. At their origin, the business processes have been mainly operation-centric, but recently, business artifacts have been proposed and seem well adapted for the specification of data-centric applications. The proposed artifact model is based on active documents and captures: their state, evolution, interactions and history. 112 pp. Englisch.…
