Softcover. Condition: Near fine. Small quarto. 33, (2)pp., with 20pp. supplement reporting the news of the department laid in. The University of Exeter's Department of Classics and Ancient History's in-house journal here features an article by notable alumna J. K. Rowling (printed here as Joanne Rowling), entitled "What was the Name of the Nymph Again?" Rowling reflects upon her fortunate, if somewhat accidental, arrival in the department and judges the merits and shortcomings of her own aptitude for the study of Classical language and myth. She also mentions that one of more unremarkable professors in the department was the model for her character, Professor Binns, known around Hogwarts for his esteemed drudgery and tediousness. A fascinating artifact issued only a year after the runaway success of Rowling's first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Bound in orange wrappers. Light spine sunning, motes of soiling, else near fine.
