The cover shows some light shelf wear, but is tidy and functional. The corners are bowed inwards are lightly worn. There is some wear around the ends and edges o…f the spine. A beautiful spine with raised bands and gold detailing. Lovely marbled end pages and page edges. The marbling on the page edges has faded. A previous owner has written their name and details in black ink on one of the first pages. This is dated 1914. There is a small gap in the binding where the covers are joined to the text block. The rest of the binding is sound. There are no loose pages. The pages are clean and in good condition.

Externally, smart, with some light rubbing to the joints and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Some minor shelf wear. Previous bookseller's small sticker to the front pastedown. Internally, front hinge is starting and the rear joint is tender. Front free-endpapers and frontispiece are starting to detach at the head, but are still attached to the tail.
