Photograph of Charlotte Moorman and Jon Hendricks during a performance of Hermann Nitsch's "Orgies Mysteries Theatre," shot by Fred W. McDarrah. This total work of art combined painting, theater, music and poetry with ritualistic and religious elements to create an intense artistic experience involving both the performers and spectators alike. Despite Moorman's arrest for performing nude five years earlier, this photograph attests to the fact that she nonetheless continued to perform publicly in states of undress. Photo print mounted on cardboard, stamped "Vintage Print" and titled and dated in manuscript at verso with McDarrah's signed studio stamp. 19 1/4 x12 3/4 in. Very good.
