This is the sixth international conference on the performance and other aspects of com munication networks. The conference is held once every three years in Japan (1985 in Tokyo; 1988, 1991, and 1994 in Kyoto; 1997 in Tsukuba). The confer ence is sponsored by the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) Working Group (WG) 6. 3 Performance of Communication Systems, 6. 4 High Performance Networking, and 7. 3 Computer System Modelling.
