Second edition in English (first English edition was 1672). Frontispiece, engraved vignette at Preface, 150 copper engravings with facing text (numbering irregular but complete). Printed sectional titles present; Table and two ad leaves at end. Collation [?]1,a-b4,A-2Q4,2R3 (terminal leaf 2R3 is a blank). 1 vols. 4to. An attractive copy of this abundantly illustrated standard work on perspective drawing. The plates are nicely inked; an early nineteenth century provenance (Ja Sharpe, the gift of his father Mr Tennent Sharpe, June 1805) is recorded in ink at front, with a pencil signature Jacobus Sharpe at the end beneath the Latin tag Labor ipse Voluptas. ESTC R17799; Wing D2412 Old calf gilt. A few leaves trimmed close at foot, not affecting leginility. Rebacked, preserving spine. Rubbed. Very good Frontispiece, engraved vignette at Preface, 150 copper engravings with facing text (numbering irregular but complete). Printed sectional titles present; Table and two ad leaves at end.
