He notes to the preface that in their nine year friendship the did not discuss the writing of Larkin's biography, but it was his longtime companion Monica Jones who requested it. This biography won the Whitbread Prize for Biography. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, fine. Dustwrapper is also in an excellent condition.
