Illustrated throughout in monochrome with Cocteau's own drawings. ***Please note that this is an ex-library copy. ***Very good in orange cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine. Although the boards are clean, there is a library number in ink on the spine, and some offsetting residue from a library jacket (now removed) to the lower edge of the front and back boards. No bumps or creases to the boards - corners sharp. Internally also very good, with no inscriptions, but with the following library marks and additions: remnant of library pocket to bottom of front pastedown; 'withdrawn for sale' stamp and remnants of library-form and barcode on front free endpaper; small round library ink stamp on half-title page; library numbers in ink to the title-page; library sticker to the rear pastedown. Spine tight. ***In a very good monochrome illustrated dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of 32s 6d net. Head of spine of dustwrapper slightly creased, nicked and rubbed with small loss to the surface. No chips or tears. No fading. There is a library number in ink on the spine of the dustwrapper, which is also slightly rubbed at the corners.
