Der Kupferstich stammt aus dem Werk "Voyage d`un François en Italie, fait dans les années 1765 & 1766. Contenant l`Histoire & les Anecdotes les plus singulieres de l`Italie [.]" von Joseph Jérôme le Français de Lalande (1732-1807) (Tome VIII, Pl. 4). Lalande war eigentlich Mathematiker und Astronom. 1765 bis 1766 bereiste er Italien und versuchte u.a. in einer Audienz bei Papst Clemens XIII die Streichung der Werke Kopernikus' und Galileis aus dem "Index" zu erwirken. 4 Jahre später publizierte er seine Reiseerlebnisse in 8 Bänden. Gewicht in Gramm: 250.
