Paperback. Three heavy stock cards. 3" X 5". Fine. 3 original transmittal envelopes. Also booklet: 8vo. Glossy pictorial wrappers. 26pp. Illustrations, advertisements. Very good. This August 1975 stage program for the Royal Shakespeare Company's revival of Arthur Conan Doyle and William Gillette's stage play about the Great Detective hails from the Broadhurst Theatre in New York, and is accompanied by bold signatures of three cast members at that time, each on a heavy stock 5" X 3" card with original envelopes present. Alphabetically: DENNIS COONEY (1938-2002) was an American actor of the stage, film and soap operas and portrayed Doctor Watson; he signs quite large in blue ballpoint, dating it 20 August 1970 at upper right. RON RANDELL (1918-2005) was an Australian actor of stage, film and television and portrayed James Larrabee; he signs in black fineline, dating it 11 December 1979 at upper right. TONY TANNER (1932-2020) was a British actor of stage, film and television and portrayed Sidney Prince; he pens a large "for / Richard / from / Tony Tanner / Many good / wishes" in black fineline (his envelope postally canceled 3 April 1973). The front cover of this "Playbill" varied during its run at this theatre. A fine trio of choice vintage examples from noted cast members from this notable production.
