Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Hardcover with DJ. Bound in tan cloth with gold lettering on the spine. Dark brown DJ with yellow and white lettering. DJ has a small closed tear at the top of the front cover and some slight wear to the edges. Price of $5.95 on the inside flap. Book is clean and tight, with a bit of normal dustiness to the top edge. A nice inscription on the second blank page reads, 'to Mark and Shelby Tennyson with my sincere regards and Congratulations on your historic name. A.J. Cronin.' He has also signed on the half-title, where he has written beneath the printed title, 'by A.J. Cronin.' No date on the title page. Copyright page dated only 1969 and stated First Edition. 245 pages. Cronin published consistently through the middle third of the twentieth century; this title is a sequel to his 1964 novel A Song of Sixpence. Despite his literary success, signed copies of Cronin's works are very scarce - this one is lovely in that it is signed twice. This copy is from the suburban DC estate of the original recipients.
