Scattered underlining and markings by Connolly to a couple of pages. "William E. Connolly is Krieger-Eisenhower Professor in the political science department at Hopkins where he teaches political theory. His early book, The Terms of Political Discourse, was awarded the Benjamin Lippincott Award in 1999 as 'a work of exceptional quality that is still considered significant at least 15 years after publication.' In a poll of American political theorists published in PS in 2010, he was ranked the fourth most influential political theorist in America over the last twenty years, after Rawls, Habermas, and Foucault. His work focuses on the issues of democratic pluralism, capitalism, inequality, fascism, and bumpy intersections between capitalism and planetary amplifiers in climate change." - Johns Hopkins University.

[NONE] 1966. (Mass market paperback) Near fine. 14pp. 8vo. Pamphlet, white paper, printed in black shows some light smudges on the rear cover; otherwise in fine condition. The Port Huron Statement was the first official statement prepared by Tom Hayden, at the time an Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) staffer, and represents the collective thought of the Convention at which the SDS was founded, held in Port Huron, Michigan, June 11 - 15, 1962. This pamphlet, one of only 25,000 ever printed, holds the excerpts from that convention. Very cool piece of 1960s ephemera.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. The all important Port Huron Statement, here in second printing, from the Students For A Democratic Society, written in response to established principles of discrimination and inequality of the time. Originally issued in 1962, and one of the foundational elements of the SDS, which carries on today. Excellent example overall. Stapled binding excellent. Very lightly bumped bottom corner, most noticeable at front and back cover. Slight crease at same corner, present throughout but in a very unobtrusive way. Interior is bright and clean. One page a bit creased from the printing process itself. Altogether excellent example.
