Second edition. Small 8 vo. 30pp. Illustrated with photograph. Very clean copy in pictorial card covers with white mark. Patrick Kavanagh was one of Ireland's finest poets of the 20th century. From a a farming background of County Monaghan the influence of his early years is seen in his poetry.

Tiny ink marking on rear pastedown, light bumping on the spine, near fine in a price-clipped, very good dust jacket (second issue, with three blurbs on front flap) with a couple closed tears on the cover with tape mends on the verso (there was also a 1963 edition, which was withdrawn due to the author's objections concerning the use of a photograph of Kavanagh; all but a few copies were destroyed of the 1963 edition).
