Pars II mit gedruckter Widmung an Gustav Hugo. - Im Geist der historischen Schule wagte sich der Professor der Rechte in Marburg, später in Berlin, Aemilius Ludwig Richter (1808-1864) an die Aufgabe heran, das gesamte Corpus iuris canonici in einer kritischen Ausgabe zu edieren. Das große Wagnis hatte Erfolg. Im Jahre 1833 erschien der erste Faszikel, das Gratianische Decretum wurde 1836 vollendet und der zweite Band schließlich 1839 herausgebracht. Es war eine überragende Editionsleistung mit den Editionstechniken der damaligen Zeit. Richters Leistung liegt in der geschichtlichen Behandlung des Kirchenrechts, damit vollzog er die Übernahme der Kriterien der Historischen Schule auf das Kirchenrecht und begründete letztlich die dritte Reihe der "Zeitschrift der Savigny-Stiftung für Rechtsgeschichte", nämlich die kanonistische Abteilung, die bis zum heutigen Tage fortgeführt wird. - Pars I: Decretum Gratiani; Pars II: In qua Decretalium Collectiones continentur (Decretales Gregorii Papae IX. suae integritati restitutae usw.) sowie angebunden: Canones et Decreta sacrosancti oecumenici Concilii Tridentini sub Paulo III., Iulio III. et Pio IV.
