Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Wraps. Large 8vo. 26pp plus folding map to rear. Original printed grey paper wraps. Price of 'Half-a-Crown' given at foot of front cover. Illustrated with 4 tinted lithograph plates (2 folding) and London map at rear. The rear folding map shows London out to Battersea at one end and the Isle of Dogs and West India Docks at the other end in the North Belsize Park across to Hackney - with the proposed 'New Street and Railway' and 'Metropolitan Railway Sanctioned by Pariament' 'Mr. Frank Foster's Lower Intercepting Sewer' each delineated with red line, red broken red line or a black line. 3 of the plates show proposed railways, with one of the 2 folding plates showing how the line would cross Waterloo bridge. The very attractive front folding plate shows 'the grand drive through Hyde Park and Kensingto Gardens to the proposed Palace of Fine Arts at Kensington.' Clean bright copy loose in its covers, with very slight wear and tear at spine hinges but no loss. Hyde Park plate slight stained at edge not affecting the image, slight tanning at edges of prelims. Cover and rear cover very slightly dusty else unmarked. Decent copy.
